BSC 2780/3780 [Simpact Associates, Inc.]

BSC 2780/3780 (CNS 6-10) is a bisynchronous (BSC) protocol used toprovide centralized wide-area communication for workstations andcomputers connected by an Ethernet LAN. BSC 2780/3780 providescommunications using the IBM 2780/3780 protocol for data transmission.Simpact's BSC 2780/3780 executes on the Simpact CNS 6 Seriescommunications server, which is a programmable communications server thatattaches to an Ethernet LAN, and provides communications for allworkstations and computers attached by the LAN.Since the communications processing is done onboard the Simpactcommunications server, the main system processor is left with maximumresource availability to run other critical computing processes.
